- sending promotional communications only where permitted and, where required, with your consent and a practical way to opt out.
4. Legal basis, notice and consent
We process personal information for purposes such as performing a contract with you, taking steps you request before a purchase, complying with legal obligations, protecting legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, and relying on consent where applicable. Where consent is required, we will seek it through an appropriate notice or control. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, without affecting processing already lawfully carried out. Withdrawal may affect services that depend on the relevant information.
5. Payments
Payments may be processed by Cashfree or another payment service provider displayed at checkout. Your payment may be subject to that provider’s terms and privacy notice. DOTS receives transaction information needed to confirm and reconcile an order. Do not send full card details, CVV, UPI PINs, passwords or one-time passwords to DOTS by email, phone or chat. DOTS will not ask you to disclose these secrets.
6. Service providers and sharing
We may share the minimum information reasonably necessary with service providers supporting the website and fulfilment, such as:

- email delivery and customer-support providers;
- courier, logistics and fulfilment partners;
- analytics, anti-spam, fraud-prevention and security services, if enabled; and
- professional advisers, auditors and insurers where reasonably necessary.
Service providers should process information only for the services they provide and under appropriate contractual and security arrangements. We may also disclose information when required by law, a valid legal process, a competent authority, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights and protect people or the website.
We do not sell personal information as a business model. We do not authorise service providers to use customer information for their own unrelated marketing.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use essential cookies and similar technologies for shopping-cart continuity, checkout, account login, security, remembering preferences and other core functions. Optional analytics, advertising or embedded third-party technologies may also set cookies if enabled. The exact cookies depend on the plugins, theme, integrations and third-party content active on the website.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any consent controls displayed on the website. Blocking essential cookies may prevent cart, checkout, login or account features from working. We may update this Policy as we review and change the cookies and similar technologies used on the website. Optional cookies and third-party technologies, where enabled, are subject to applicable consent requirements.
8. Website logs, security and fraud prevention
Security tools and hosting systems may record IP addresses, login attempts, device/browser information, timestamps and events associated with suspicious activity. We use these records to detect abuse, investigate incidents, maintain availability and protect accounts and transactions. Access is restricted to authorised personnel and service providers who need it for these purposes.
9. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer support, accounting, tax, legal compliance, dispute resolution and security. Order and transaction records may need to be retained for statutory periods. Account information is retained while the account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter where needed for legal, security or operational purposes. Security logs, support messages and marketing consent records should have defined retention periods based on their purpose.
Specific retention periods depend on the record type and applicable law. DOTS should document and apply a retention schedule rather than promise immediate deletion of records that must legally be retained.
10. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to information about your personal data, correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, erasure where retention is no longer necessary or legally required, withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent, information about processing and sharing, and grievance redressal. We may retain information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
11. Marketing communications
Transactional messages are necessary to operate your account and orders and are not the same as promotional marketing. We will send promotional email or messages only where permitted. You can opt out using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or by contacting us. An opt-out from marketing will not stop essential service messages about an active order, account security or a legal notice.
12. Children
The website is intended for adults making purchases for themselves or their households. We do not knowingly seek to profile children or collect children’s personal data for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so that we can assess and address the request in accordance with applicable law.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, which may include HTTPS, access controls, password hashing, software updates, backups, security monitoring and restricted administrator access.
